Siemens joins Algae@Work Alliance Network

Siemens Industry Tuesday announced that it has joined A2BE Carbon Capture LLC’s “Algae@Work Alliance Network, a consortium that’s working on a new paradigm for biofuels, biofeedstock’s, and climate change mitigation and adaptation.

Algae@Work Alliance Network comprises of several leading names from the corporate world as well as academic institutions. This unique consortium of industry and academics is working on developing and commercializing a bio-secure, scalable, climate adaptive and cost effective system to recycle industrial CO2 emissions. Having a well known global player such as Siemens on board, is expected to do a world of good to the cause of Algae@Work Alliance Network.

With over 125 U.S. biofuel installations capable of producing more than 7 billion gallons of biofuels annually, Siemens is a key player in the biofuel automation and control market segment. The company is expected to provide the technical know-how for several pilot scale-ups, to full scale carbon capture and recycle (CC&R) projects.

Siemens & other Alliance Network partners have recently received $175,000 in funding from the State of Pennsylvania to evaluate the viability of establishing the US’ first integrated Coal-Biomass-to-Liquids (CBTL) pilot there using A2BE Carbon Capture’s PBRs.

Siemens Industry is the Industry Automation Division of Siemens and deals with automation systems, low-voltage switchgear and industrial software segments.
