Repeaters in ControlNet Network Topologies

Repeaters can be used in various topologies in ControlNet networks. Following are the four topologies with their features:

Bus Topology

  • Repeaters have to be in series.
  • This is the most basic (and more common) layout

Star Topology

Repeaters are configured as hubs in this configuration

Tree Topology

  • Repeaters have to be in parallel form
  • This formation is a combination of Star and Bus topology

Ring Topology

  • You can fit a maximum number of 98 nodes in this formation
  • It can transmit both clockwise and counter clockwise
  • The above feature allows for communication to continue even if one side of the star formation gets disconnected as it can still communicate from the opposite path on the star.
