Emerson to Automate Huadian Lingwu Power Plant
Emerson Process Management has announced that it has received a $2.72 million deal with the Huadian Lingwu Power Plant. As part of the contract, Emerson will install its flagship automation solution – Oviation at Huadian Lingwu’s plant units 3 and 4.
The Huadian Lingwu plant is located in Yinchuan city and is the first plant in China to have 1,000-MW ultra-super critical units. Emerson is no stranger to the plant as it’s Oviation solution is already being used in units 1 and 2 ever since the plant commenced operations in 2007.
The current Emerson contract has aggressive time lines with plant 3 expected to be operational as early as next month. Plant 4 is expected to be ready for commercial use by end of this year. The stakes are high for Emerson as it looks to increase its footprint in China and rest of South-East Asia. The company has managed to receive large deals and is set to automate 30 out of 50 1,000-MW ultra-supercritical units in China.
As part of the contract, Emerson will install 67 redundant Oviation controllers, 20 workstations and 70+ Fischer control valves at the at Huadian Lingwu’s plant units 3 and 4.
