Siemens PLM Software last week announced that it has promoted Charles C. “Chuck” Grindstaff, the current executive VP & CTO as the President. His appointment will be effective from October 1, 2010.
A quick peak at Grinstaff’s LinkedIn profile shows that he’s a veteran industry executive who’s spent most of his career at Siemens. Charles earned his Bachelors degree in Chemistry from Pomona College, California in 1978 and then joined Unigraphics Solutions. He then served as the President and CEO of Waveframe Corp from 1988 to 1992 before returning to Unigraphics in 1994. He’s been confiscated with the coveted “Science & Engineering Award” by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.
Grindstaff replaces Dr. Helmuth Ludwig, another Siemens veteran who’ll now focus on various business units to provide a range of strategic communication services. Dr. Ludwig earned a Masters in Business Administration degree from University of Chicago in 1990 and then joined Siemens Corporate Development team to create regional strategies.
Siemens PLM is headquartered in Plano, Texas and has nearly 63,000 customers worldwide. It is a part of Siemens Industry Automation Division which offers automation, industrial controls and industrial solutions.
