ABB Wins $700 Million Wind Power Order

ABB wins yet another large order. This time it is a $700 million wind power plant order. This plant will connect three North Sea wind farms to German power grid that supply 800-megawatt (MW) power. This is the largest power transmision order ABB has ever got.

This power plant is scheduled to be operational in 2013. Germany currently meets about eight percent of its electricity requirements with wind power and expects to double that by 2020.

ABB is on the roll. It must be exciting for them during this bad economy.

ABB has more about this story on their website.
